Quietly tucked between the Blue Ridge and Massanutten Mountains, Page Valley is something of a sanctuary, but there’s fun to be had when you know where to look.
At the heart of Page Valley is the iconic Luray Caverns, a National Natural Landmark. In addition to the Great Stalacpipe Organ within the caverns, visitors enjoy above-ground sites, too, like the Shenandoah Heritage Village and the Car & Carriage Caravan Museum. For an additional fee, find your way through Garden Maze or test your strength and bravery with a run through the Rope Adventure Park.
Things to Do
Page Valley always celebrates rich culture and community spirit, but that’s especially true this Semisesquicentennial year. Kick off the fun on July 1 at the 59th Annual Stanley Homecoming. Held at Ed Good Memorial Park, the festival features local food, games, a pageant, live music, and carnival rides. The Downtown Get Down on Independence Day is everything you’d hope for a small town Fourth of July to be: live music, food trucks, and a spectacular fireworks display. As summer begins to wind down, the Page Valley Agricultural and Industrial Fair amps up. Running August 24 to 29, patrons will find classic carnival rides, agricultural exhibits, and sinfully wonderful fair food indulgences. Throughout the summer, the Evenings on Main free concert series closes out warm nights in downtown Luray.
