Discover Strasburg

Trusty historic Route 11 meanders through downtown Strasburg, a 1761 Shenandoah Valley town in Shenandoah County, Virginia. Park the car along King Street and enjoy this walkable town and all its charming delights.

Unexpected … And Wonderful!

Murals are popping up around Strasburg. This burgeoning art community is making itself known in the most beautiful ways. Find one such example – “Flourish” – at a lovely pocket park between the Strasburg Library and Pot Town Organics. The other side of Pot Town Organics features “Lula,” but keep going! There’s more!

Mural Tour

The Pancake Underground is more than you expect. What started as a food truck in Portland, Oregon came home to Virginia to set up shop in sweet Strasburg. You’ll easily spot it based on its vibrant yellow and red exterior accents, but inside is where you’ll find the delight: a scratch-made sweet and savory menu, cocktails, and events your family will love! For example, December offered an N64 Mario Kart Tournament – so cool! A monthly open mic night is held every third Thursday, so enjoy the show or be the show.

What was old is new at Box Office Brewery. The lights went dim inside the 1920 Strand Theater in 1955, but these days it’s an expansive space with two levels of seating (the upper placed exactly where the original balcony was located) and a view of the brewing process. Pair up a pint with light fare, pizza, wings, or sandwich from their kitchen. Well-timed weekend visits may coincide with live entertainment. Note the stage floor was repurposed from the original theater stage, and the bar top is a bowling lane from the 1930s Lucky Strike alley.

Old Dominion Doggery & Burger Shoppe has an old west feel to its façade and a decidedly all-American menu. Grass-fed beef is the main ingredient on the creative menu. Embrace that old west feel with an Alamo Dog complete with jalapenos and sour cream. Don’t worry, you can also build your own dogs and burgers or dive into a salad.

Old School Shopping Fun

Clementine Vintage is a treasure trove of things you want but never need. That’s okay: go for the want this time! Indeed, there are fantastic vintage finds inside, but there are also locally made products like candles, jewelry, and tasty food and beverage items.

Lydia’s Clothes Closet is called “the cutest little thrift shop in Shenandoah County” and we concur. Lydia’s offers home décor, glassware and dishes, and a lot more, including clothes, of course.

The Strasburg Emporium is an antiquing go-to in the Shenandoah Valley as its footprint is more than 52,000 square feet. You’re sure to find something to make you smile or take you back in time.

There is much more to discover about Strasburg, but this primer focusing on King Street is a great place to start. Open daily, the Strasburg Visitor Center is an excellent on-site resource for you.
