Massanutten Resort

The waiting is over. Massanutten Resort’s ski slopes are now open.

Located in McGaheysville, barely a quick schuss from Harrisonburg, winter sports enthusiasts can now ski, snowboard, tube and skate at this popular, multi-faceted resort.

Just prior to the “soft” opening December 7th, (for Season Pass holders) Kenny Hess, director of sports and recreation at Massanutten Resort, said, “Our snow makers have been hard at work covering the Ski Slopes and Snow Tubing hill in snow. We will have top-to-bottom skiing and riding with Southern Comfort and Diamond Jim ready to go, and we will continue to make snow and open additional trails as temperatures allow.”

Hess attributes an early season opening to the hard work of their snowmaking team. “Our snowmakers have been working hard to crank out as much snow as possible the past few weeks, and have done a phenomenal job getting us prepared for an epic 2018/19 season,” said Hess. “We’re very excited to add yet another benefit to our season pass holders this year, giving them first dibs on first tracks of the season.”

The 2018/19 Season Pass Bonus includes benefits such as 10% off lodging at Massanutten Resort (subject to availability), and 10% off dining at the resort during ski season (excludes alcohol).

Skiers and riders can still purchase their season passes online and in-person. Check here for daily conditions reports and live view of their slopes.  Stay up-to-date on the latest news by following @MassResort on Instagram or follow Massanutten Resort on Facebook.

Skiers and riders who visit Massanutten will have access to 70 skiable acres, including 14 runs serviced by 7 lifts. Hours are as follows:
December 15, 2018 to March 3, 2019 — Wednesday – Monday 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. & Tuesday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
