EPIC 100 Bucket List
Welcome to the Shenandoah Valley's ultimate travel bucket list. See the categories, meet the winners, and get ready for adventure!
Bear’s Den Rocks
The outcropping rocks at the vista of Bear’s Den are thought to be more than 12,000 year old, that’s 10,000 B.C.! There’s evidence of the Paleo-Indian civilization in the Bluemont area. After a short 1.5-mile hike visitors can enjoy spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River, and Shenandoah Valley at the summit. An add-on to the hike is a short walk to the Bears Hostel Lodge, circa 1933. Stop off a Twin Oaks Tavern Winery (about a mile away) or Veramar Vineyard (about 5 miles away) for a beautiful relaxing spot to rejuvenate with a wine flight and a charcuterie board.
