Blue Plate Books

If you have a book to sell, Blue Plate Books could be your place. Their specialties are gently used, out-of-print, and rare books. More than 75,000 are available and more than 250,000 titles have passed through their hands since opening in 2008. Tap into their knowledge and sourcing to find the special edition you’ve longed for.

“We live in Fairfax County and travel to Winchester just to visit this incredibly well stocked used bookstore. We frequent all the used bookstores in Northern Va and Maryland and this is my favorite. Huge selection of out of print and unusual books. The only downside is that it’s too far but we stock up when we go. Highly recommend this gem.”

– PJY, Vienna, VA

Four Color Fantasies

Comic books, anyone? For almost 40 years this locally loved comic book store has stocked both old favorites and brand new series for young and old alike. New releases and even treasured back issues are available. Their catch? They don’t sell online or offer shipping service, so you’ll need to visit in person. Without a doubt, a stop at Four Color Fantasies is worth it.

“It’s an old school graphic novel shop in all the best ways. You know when you walk in and see the wall of subscription cubbies, you’ve hit gold. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful, and they have a good selection of mainstream comics as well as plenty of choices off the beaten path.”

– John I., Berryville, VA
