Exit 222 US 250 W, Entrance 1/2 mi on Left at Light

The Frontier Culture Museum tells the story of thousands of people who migrated to colonial America, and of the life they created here for themselves and their descendents. The Museum’s costumed staff provide living history interpretation of pre-immigration Europe & pre-Civil War Shenandoah Valley.  There are eleven exhibits representing 17th, 18th, & 19th century cultures of England, Ireland, Germany, West Africa, Native America, and an evolving American frontier in the Shenandoah Valley.

The Museum is open year round, 7 days a week, from 9 am to 5 pm. Visit the Museum’s Facebook page for current information and upcoming activities.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Museum has deployed safety protocols prescribed by the Commonwealth of Virginia and CDC. The Museum is limiting the maximum number of guests on property and at each exhibit, controlling tour group sizes, social distancing our staff and guests, requiring masks where prescribed, and holding all interpretive demonstrations outdoors. Masks are required when indoors or when social distancing is not possible outdoors. High contact areas are disinfected frequently.  Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and educational experience for all of our visitors during these challenging times.
