The Newtown History Center

I-81 Exit 307. Visit the Newtown History Center in Stephens City, the second oldest town in the Shenandoah Valley. Wagon road settlement founded during the French & Indian War, its fame in the old VA freight wagon industry, its role in the Civil War. 

Visit the 1767 stone house and take a walking tour of the historic district. Open June-Aug, Tues-Sat 10am-4pm; Sun 1pm-5pm; Sept thru 3rd Sun in Nov open Wed-Sat 10am-4pm; Sun 1pm-5pm. Open by appointment Dec-May.
